GDPR shutdown
Starting Mai 25th 2018 the EU GDPR comes into effect
The EU is implementing new data privacy rules, known as General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). While privacy and data protection are a good thing, the rules and regulations laid out by EU beaurocrats are for many people very hard or close to impossible to fully comply with. Due to the risk of enourmous fines (20 million Euro or up to 4% of yearly revenue) some people have decided it's not worth it and shut down their sites, apps and bussineses. Dealing with vague rules and risking financial ruin sometimes just isn't worth it, especially if you didn't make any money worth mentioning doing it in the first place.
